Everyday Superhero Darren Galer from Ealing has won the chance to unleash his inner superpower as part of #TeamAli in the Celebrity Superhero Tri.

A chance to compete alongside some of the nation’s favourite celebrities and Paralympians, the Celebrity Superhero Tri is part of the Superhero Series, a new sporting challenge open to all those with a disability.

Big, bold and gutsy, the Superhero Series takes place on August 19 at Dorney Lake and is the first event in the only sports series dedicated to the UK’s 12 million people with disabilities and long-term injuries – the Everyday Superhero.

Each team member will do one leg of the Tri, 150m swim, 3k bike, 1k push/rush.

Darren will be doing the 3k bike, Team Captain Ali Jawad will do the 1k run/push and fellow Everyday Superhero competition winner Lauren Bradfield from Woking will be doing the 150m swim.

Superhero Series founder and Paralympian Sophia Warner said: “I am thrilled that Darren is joining forces with Team Ali to make a super team.

“The Celebrity Superhero Tri is going to a fun fuelled start to the Superhero Series, I cannot wait for August.”

Superhero Series throws out restrictive equipment rules and regulations to give total beginners through to elite athletes the chance to find their inner superpower and achieve an inspirational goal.

The unique challenges are designed to encourage the Everyday Superhero to unite with family and friends to do as much or as little as they wish, with as much or as little support as they need.
