Police have renewed appeals for information after a 21-year-old man was found stabbed to death in Mottingham.

Four people were arrested after the man died at the scene in Charlesfield on Friday, February 24.

Police were called shortly before 3.45pm on Friday to reports of a man believed to be in possession of a firearm in Lambscroft Avenue in Mottingham.

Armed police attended. 

On arrival, officers were directed to a man suffering stab injuries on nearby Charlesfield.

Police officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance gave emergency first aid to the victim. However, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next of kin have been informed and formal identification is due to take place tomorrow.

A post-mortem examination held at Greenwich Mortuary on Saturday, February 25 gave a preliminary cause of death as multiple incised wounds.

Four males - aged 19 [A], 18 [B], 16 [C] and 20 [D] - were arrested close to the scene on suspicion of murder.

They were taken to south London police stations and have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

'A; B; C’ are due back on a date in late March and 'D' is due back on a date in early May.

An incident room has opened under the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
