VIBRANT artwork designed by children of the past, present and future of a housing estate has been unveiled.

Year 3 pupils of Alma Primary School, St Matthew’s Primary School and Oasis Academy Hadley created the designs, hung outside the Alma Estate.

Planning permission to knock down and rebuild the estate was approved in March 2016.

Cllr Ahmet Oykener said: “The young people have all contributed such wonderful artwork which really enhances the site.

“Our aim is to grow a stronger, more inclusive community and we believe this project is the start of something very special, working towards making Enfield a better place for residents to live and work.

“This artwork will be a great source of inspiration for everyone, reminding locals of Ponders End history and its exciting prospects for the future.”

Paul Sweeny, community and customer services director at Countryside Partnerships South, presented each school with a donation.
