Shoppers at Ruislip’s Waitrose are being given the chance to support  Michael Sobell Hospice Charity this weekend.

Volunteers will be hosting an in-store fundraising collection and Easter egg donation point in celebration of 40 years of providing hospice care to local people.

Shoppers will be invited to donate a few pennies to the Northwood-based hospice, which has been providing specialist palliative care for over four decades to patients and their families facing life-limiting illness.

MSHC Events Manager, Ophelia Chambers-Henry said: “On behalf of Michael Sobell Hospice Charity, I’d like to say a huge thank you to the team at Waitrose, Ruislip, for allowing us to hold our fundraising collection and Easter egg donation point, in celebration of 40 years of Michael Sobell Hospice.”

“A very big thank you also to our wonderful volunteers from Elthorne & Hillingdon Rotary Club, for lending a hand and giving up your time to help support us.”

As part of the fundraising effort, customers to the store will be encouraged to donate a chocolate Easter egg to the Michael Sobell Hospice trolley.

All eggs donated on the day will form part of the charity’s fun-packed Easter egg hunt & eggstravaganza event – a must for avid young egg hunters, and indeed all ages, taking place in the grounds of Mount Vernon Hospital on Saturday 8th April, from 10.45am.

You can book your egg hunt place and save £2 with an early bird offer price of £6.50pp, by visiting www.michaelsobellhospice.co.uk
