Nominations open today for the newly established Ealing Sports Awards, which aim to recognise the achievements of sports clubs, volunteers and individuals in the area.
Everyone Active have teames up with Ealing Council to celebrate clubs who create inclusive environments, volunteers who have had a positive impact on increasing participation and sporting personalities who are exceeding expectations in their field.
Awards will be spread across nine different categories and any sports group operating in Ealing can be nominated.
Members of the local community are encouraged to make nominations by visiting the Ealing Sport Awards website.
Anyone who makes a nomination will automatically be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a year’s free Everyone Active membership.
Everyone Active Contract Manager James Bowden said: “We are excited to be launching the Ealing Sports Awards to recognise the many amazing clubs and individuals we have here in Ealing.
“Everyone Active are committed to providing a range of opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to be more active within their local community, and we’re delighted to be working with Ealing Council to celebrate those who also share this passion.”
Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport, environment and leisure said: “We are blessed across the borough with exceptional and inspirational people helping people get active and involved through sports.
“This inaugural Ealing Sports Awards is all about recognising those in our local community that show dedication to the sports they love, and those that help others play, learn and discover sport.
“Residents have a great opportunity to honour the athletes, coaches, clubs and organisations that really deserve acclaim and I encourage everyone to get their nominations in as soon possible.”
Nominations are open from 20th February to 31st May, and short-listed nominees will be contacted by 9th June.
