Two burglars burst into a pensioner’s flat in Bexley and pinned her to the floor while they ransacked her home.
Police were called to the flat in Chislehurst Road, in Sidcup, at about 11pm yesterday to reports of an aggravated burglary.
When they arrived they found a woman in her 70s suffering minor injuries after two men forced entry into the home and stole cash, jewellery and the victim's handbag.
The pensioner was held down by the robbers as they raided her home.
Tracy Assuncao, 51, who lives in the flat above, said: “We heard it more than anything. I was watching my TV and I heard bang, bang, bang very loud.
“It woke my daughter up and she heard screaming. They’d knocked the security door in at the front. We could hear her screaming ‘help, help, help’.
“We’re all shaken up, it was terrible. The police told us to get in our flat and put chairs behind the doors.
“We’re all closely knit, we look out for eachother.”
Detectives from Bexley Heath CID have launched an appeal to find the two men, who are both described as white, olive skinned, possibly eastern European, and wearing balaclavas at the time of the robbery.
One is described as about 5ft 7ins tall with stocky build and the other taller and of a thin build.
