South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust’s rating has been changed from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’ following an inspection in September.

In the review of its previous inspection, although the Care Quality Commission reported that “there was much for the trust to be proud of”, it stated that certain areas needed to improve.

The main services that required attention were the community based mental health services for adults of working age and for older people and the rehabilitation mental health wards for working age adults.

The summary of the review published today (December 2) stated: “In the services we inspected, the trust had acted to meet the requirement notices we issued after our inspection in March 2016”.

Chief Executive of the trust David Bradley said: “We are delighted to receive a rating of ‘Good’ across all our services.

“This achievement has only been possible due to the hard work and dedication of all our staff.

“I am very proud of the professional and dedicated way in which they support our patients every single day.”

Deputy chief inspector of hospitals and CQC’s lead for mental health Paul Lelliott said:  “I am very pleased with the significant improvements achieved at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, which means people that use the trust’s services, will be getting better quality care.”
