Candles being used after a power cut are thought to have caused a fire at a block of flats in Putney.
Four fire engines and 21 firefighters were called to the blaze in a second-floor flat in Innes Gardens near Putney Heath.
A woman and two children had fled the flat before London Fire Brigade arrived, and a disabled woman in a neighbouring flat was helped to safety by two members of the public.
Two men who had been in the building were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital.
Firefighters were called just before 8.20pm on Thursday (October 27) and the fire was under control by 9.30pm.
