Crayford Road in Crayford is finally set to reopen after more than three weeks of disruption caused by broken water pipes.
A 12-inch wide pipe inside the railway bridge burst on October 4, flooding nearby roads.
While this was being fixed, a connecting 18-inch pipe also burst in the early hours of October 9, leaving about 5,000 properties in Bexley, Dartford and Greenwich without water.
Flooding after the second burst pipe led to vehicles in the Town Hall development being crushed when the water caused the floor of the car park to swell and rise.
Thames Water says pipe repairs in Crayford Road are now complete and it has been agreed with Bexley Council that the road will reopen by Friday night when the road surface will be ready to drive on.
Crayford Road has been closed between Station Road and Heath Road, with diversions in place.
