A 15-year-old boy was stabbed outside a supermarket in Wandsworth on Saturday evening.

The victim was said to remain in a critical but stable condition in a south London hospital after suffering a single stab wound to his abdomen.

Metropolitan police officers and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called just before 8.45pm on Saturday, September 3, to reports of a stabbing outside Sainsbury’s in Garratt Lane, Earlsfield.

Detectives from Wandsworth Borough CID believe the teenage victim was with friends near the Southside Shopping Centre on Saturday evening, when two suspects – described as black males on bicycles – stopped and spoke to him. The victim was then stabbed.

Detective Sergeant Bronwen Powell, from Wandsworth CID, said: "We are thankful to the members of the public who stopped to help the victim prior to emergency services attending, and who have spoken to police about the incident so far.

"However, we are still keen to hear from anyone else who was in or around the Garratt Lane area, that may have seen or heard anything, and that they think may assist our investigation."
