More than 260 Erith homes have been eyed up for development with a public consultation opening this weekend.
The future of the Arthur Street estate has been put up for discussion by the housing association giant Orbit.
Orbit owns and manages around 4,600 homes across the borough
Residents and those living in the surrounding neighbourhoods have been invited to have their say at a public consultation event this Saturday (July 16), held at Peareswood Primary School in Peareswood Road between 11am and 3pm.
There are currently 263 homes on the Arthur Street estate which sits on the other side of the road to one of the association's latest 580 home developments, Erith Park.
Erith Park estate was first started in December 2014
The award winning Erith Park is set for completion by 2018.
Maggie McCann, Orbit’s Development Director, said: “This is the first step in our consultation on the future of the Arthur Street estate.
“Despite putting a high level of resources into managing the estate, it still remains an unattractive and unpopular place to live.
“We would like to start a discussion with the people who live in and near the estate, about how we can transform it into an attractive place where people want to live now and in the future.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and share their views.
“Please drop in to the consultation event and play your part in shaping the future of Arthur Street estate.”
Orbit owns and manages around 4,600 homes across the borough with phase two of the Erith Park build in full swing.
Phase one of the Erith Park estate has been completed
Erith Park has recently won London Regeneration Project of the year at the London Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors Awards (RICS).
At their current building rate, Orbit is building 1,700 homes a year increasing their 39,000 strong portfolio of homes.
