A former Harlequins rugby star has been acquitted of actual bodily harm following a violent nightclub fight in Brighton which left two victims with facial injuries.

Jordan Turner-Hall, 28, of Bridge Road, East Molesey, was arrested and charged following a fight at a Brighton bar on October 30, 2014.

A jury found Mr Turner-Hall’s friend, 27-year-old James Fairhall, guilty of GBH after the brawl with two 21-year-old victims in Brighton nightclub Pryzm.

One of the victims was left with a fractured cheekbone, a broken nose and bruised face, and the other had chipped teeth and a cut lip.

Police arrested Mr Turner-Hall, who has two England caps, and Fairhall three weeks later and charged them in June last year.

Shop assistant Fairhall, from Brighton, will be sentenced on July 29. He was found not guilty of a second charge of actual bodily harm.

Detective Constable Tracey Dixon said: "This was a violent attack in a nightclub and these two young men both suffered injuries to their faces which have needed some ongoing treatment.

“It has never been clear what the fight was about but I am glad the victims can now have closure."

Mr Turner-Hall, who retired from professional rugby a year ago, predominately played at centre during his nine-year stint with Harlequins, during which the side won the 2011/12 English Premiership title.
