Two drivers have to shell out almost £1,000 between them after using dead people’s blue badges to get disabled parking spots in Bromley.

Alana Ellisdon, 31, of Hayes Lane, Beckenham, and Lynn Marney, 61, of Parsonage Bank, Eynesford in Kent, both pleaded guilty to misusing blue badges.

Miss Ellisdon had to fork out £450 after parking in Queen’s Road, Bromley, on February 9 and displaying an old-style handwritten blue badge with the date altered.

When she was questioned by parking services she said she was out shopping with her nan but later admitted she found the badge in a car park.

Mrs Marney was slapped with a £545 fine, including court costs and victim surcharges, for displaying her dead mother’s blue badge while parking in Chislehurst on March 12.

When asked to hand it over for inspection, she refused and verbally abused the officer before driving away.
