Police are investigating after a young man was stabbed in broad daylight on a street in Walthamstow.

Officers were called to St James Street at 4.30pm on Tuesday (May 24), following reports of a male suffering from stab injuries.

London Ambulance Service took the injured man, believed to be aged in his early 20s, to an east London hospital.

He remains in hospital in a stable condition. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and enquiries continue.

Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact officers at Waltham Forest via the 101 non-emergency line.
