Walthamstow boyband East 17 have become the latest act to pull out of a Brexit gig in Birmingham.

Campaign group Leave.EU had organised “BPop Live” an evening of music at the Genting Arena on June 19- four days before the EU referendum.

East 17 were scheduled to perform at the concert alongside acts such as Alesha Dixon, Five and Sister Sledge.

The event was also expected to feature appearances from a number of familiar speakers on the “leave” side of the referendum debate, including Ukip leader Nigel Farage.

However, all musicians, including East 17, have cancelled their performances after discovering the political nature of the gig.

BPop Live had already been hit by a number of line-up changes.

Drum and bass act Sigma pulled out and told Buzzfeed they are “in no way supporting the event” when asked if they are in favour of Britain voting to leave the EU.

Alesha Dixon backed out after learning BPop was: “more of a political rally”.

Earlier on Tuesday, Five had announced two of its members Ritchie Neville and Scott Robinson had cancelled their performance.

East 17 and Sister Sledge then became latest acts to cancel yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, May 25).

Leave.EU campaign founder and Ukip donor, Arron Banks, took to Twitter, telling users a new line-up for the gig was being arranged.
