The owners of a “potty-mouthed Polly” are appealing for the public’s help after their parrot named Baby flew away from her home in Orpington.

Baby, an African Grey parrot with a red tail and a penchant for swearing, has been missing since Saturday.

Owner Irfan Kuman was in his garden with baby when she got spooked and flew away from the Ringshall Road home.

The 34-year-old told News Shopper: “She’s extremely friendly, she talks quite a lot.

“She says hello and she swears quite a lot - she’s a bit of a potty mouthed Polly.”

Baby has gone missing before, but turned up at a local school 10 days later.

Mr Kuman is urging the public to keep an eye out for their beloved pet who has been in the family for 20 years.

“She really is one of the family”, he said.

“I can’t imagine living without her. I have been in tears every night, we both have me and my partner.”

The mischievous parrot is likely to still be in the area, Mr Kuman said, and a reward is on offer for her safe return.

He said Baby is so friendly that she will happily land on a stranger’s shoulder.

“She may be at somebody’s house, I’m hoping somebody has taken her in,” Mr Kuman said.

“She’s quite easy to spot, she doesn’t like crows and she has a lot of fights with them.

“She is really smart so we know, more than likely, she is hunting for us.”
