A GROUP of teenagers raised awareness about domestic abuse by making a short film.

Pupils from East Barnet School, Barnet College and Woodhouse College took part in a project run by Exposure to direct the film.

‘Behind Closed Doors’ brings domestic abuse to the forefront as well as looks into what makes up a healthy relationship.

Jessica Aldridge, Barnet College student, said: “I'm very grateful to the Exposure team for giving me this opportunity. I have learnt lots of new skills and have been supported in sharing my experiences through my writing and contributions to the film.”

More than 35 people took part in the project which was funded by Barnet Council.

Luke Pantelidou, Exposure's designer and director of the film, said: "We thank everyone who helped make this project possible and hope the film will raise awareness about this all too common issue.

"It’s alarming how many young people have experienced some form of abuse in their relationships. It was a pleasure to train and work with such dedicated young people.”
