Thousands of Harrow residents will have a chance to discover their sporting passion next month at Harrow’s first ever Super Saturday of Sport.

The free sport and activity event will take place at Bannister Sports Centre on March 19 from 11am to 3pm with several Harrow clubs offering taster sessions for all ages.

The day is part of an activity filled weekend in Harrow which will also include the Sport Relief Mile on Sunday at the same venue.

Cllr Sue Anderson, responsible for community, culture and resident engagement at Harrow Council, said: "I am delighted that Super Saturday of Sport is coming to Harrow for the first time.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to discover their sporting talent – and best of all it’s free.

"The event will showcase what Harrow has to offer and help raise participation in sports.

"So get your sporting gear on, have fun and find your sporting passion."

Super Saturday of Sport has been running in Chiswick and Feltham since 2013, with the event attracting 8,000 people last summer.

A number of sports and clubs have confirmed their attendance for the event in Harrow including Everyone Active, Harrow Athletics Club, Harrow Blackhawks Basketball club, Harrow Allstars Netball Club, London Taekwondo and Kenton Tennis Club.

Sports such as korfball, boccia, skateboarding, table tennis and softball will also be there.
