A Richmond policeman received the Best Thief Taker Award at this year’s Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Total Policing Awards.
Top cop Police Constable Jason White made 120 arrests in 2015 and had an outstanding 82 per cent conviction rate.
He also led the way for effective use of stop-and-search, with a 100 per cent record of arrest.
Richmond’s Borough Commander Colin Kennedy paid tribute to PC White’s efforts.
He said: “I’m extremely proud of Jason, recognition as the Met’s best thief taker at this year’s excellence awards, hosted by the commissioner.
“Jason has been shortlisted for this award five years running now and that is a phenomenal achievement.
“I would say that this degree of dedication to the profession is typical of Richmond police officers and staff, in my opinion.
“The reason why Richmond is one of the safest boroughs in London.”
