The front of a bus was smashed this lunchtime after it collided with a truck in Lee.

The 202 bus from Blackheath to Crystal Palace was travelling along the South Circular Road when it crashed near the junction of St Mildreds Road.

The rear end of the flat bed truck appears to have smashed into the front of the bus, severely damaging the front passenger door.

IT engineer Colin Henry, 47, was working from home when his wife Christina Bacos heard the crash.

The former photographer said police had arrived on the scene by the time he made it outside to see the aftermath of the two-vehicle smash.

He told News Shopper: "I was a bit surprised there was still people on the bus.

"The lorry driver and the bus driver looked pretty shaken up."

Mr Henry said the lorry appeared to be turning right into Rayford Avenue when it collided with the 202 bus on its route along the South Circular.

"There has been quite a few accidents there," he added.

A spokeswoman for the Met Police said no-one is believed to have been injured in the crash.
