A driver had a lucky escape yesterday when he walked away with minor injuries after his car crashed into parked vehicles before flipping onto its roof in Eltham.

The three car pile-up happened at around 10am, on February 4, in Lilburne Road.

The male driver was cut free from his car by firefighters after becoming trapped in the wreckage.

Pictures show the crushed red car on its roof, as firefighters and medics worked at the scene.

Firefighters from Eltham, Lee Green and Lewisham stations were called to the crash which was over by 10.46am.

The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to minor injuries.

London Ambulance tweeted: "Yesterday we attended a 3 car RTC in #SE9 thankfully minor injuries."
