A VOLUNTEER police cadet has won an award for being a good role model.
Gabriella Di Napoli, 17, from the Barnet Unit of the Volunteer Police Cadets, received a Jack Petchey Foundation award at the annual event on Sunday (January 17) in Kensington Great Hall.
She received a medallion, a framed certificate and a cheque for £200.
The teenager was nominated by her peers and leaders for being a strong role model for younger cadets, having volunteered with the junior cadet unit since it was set up last January.
The £200 award will be spent on camping equipment.
Superintendent Jo Edwards said: “It was a privilege and an honour to present the awards to so many young people from every borough of London. Their work, attitude and commitment is an inspiration to us all.
“They are fantastic ambassadors for the Metropolitan police and for London.”
