A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested after a woman was assaulted on a Northern line train.

The incident took place between Edgware and Brent Cross last Friday (January 8) between 11.05am and 11.20am.

British Transport Police arrested the man on suspicion of common assault. He has been bailed until February 4.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Investigating officer DC David Bishop said: “I am appealing for two people who I believe helped the victim when this incident happened to come forward. Two men came to the woman’s aid when she shouted for help.

"I am extremely keen to speak to the two people. Were you on that train? Were you the ones that helped the young woman? If so, please get in touch with BTP on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 quoting crime reference number T-SUB/B4 of 14/01/16.”
