A Star Wars actor “delighted” the cast of a theatre company by watching their latest show.

Anthony Daniels, who has played C-3PO in all of the Star Wars movies, visited the Chickenshed Theatre, Southgate, on January 3 to watch the actors perform, ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas.’

After the show, he also took the time to sign autographs and have photographs with the cast and audience.

Mr Daniels said: “As a change from the The Force Awakens, I saw The Twelve Days of Christmas at Chickenshed.

“I’d give a Tony Award to each of the 100+ cast and crew. It was spectacular.

“I hope more towns think about starting their own Chickenshed.”

Chickenshed prides itself on being an ‘inclusive’ theatre company for people of all ages, with a cast made up of people from 7 years old to nearly 70 years old who come from every background and all abilities.

The latest show is a re-invention of the traditional Christmas song, ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ and makes reference to many of the famous lyrics, including a “gaggle of paranoid Geese” as well as “four Calling Birds” in search of “five gold rings”.

Many celebrity supporters have seen the show, including Jeremy Vine and Michelle Collins, however, the appearance of a Hollywood actor has been particularly memorable for all those involved with the company. Susan Jamson of Chickenshed said: “I met Anthony and he was absolutely delightful and spent a long time meeting the cast and our audience.

“He is a real star.”

Tickets for ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’ are available until the show’s end on January 9.
