There have been allegations made against several YouTubers, three of them being: Sam Pepper, Jason Viohni and Tate Wolverson. Many teenage girls have come forward stating that they have been sexually assaulted and, or, raped by these male YouTubers. Despite these claims being made late last year, the question remains: Is YouTube no longer safe?

Sam Pepper, a YouTube personality, has been accused of raping several young women. He is known, on YouTube, for posting "prank" videos. A majority of his content is about how to pick up women and has been perceived to be very misogynistic. One of his most outrageous pranks was uploaded in September, last year. The clip sparked outrage because Pepper, was seen, using a fake hand to grope women in the street. He claimed it was simply a “social experiment”. However, as a result, the clip caused several young women to come forward accusing Pepper of rape.

Another YouTuber accused of rape would be Tate Wolverson. He has already made a video, on his channel, talking about the situation. It seems that since the accusations of Sam Pepper and Jason Viohni came to light in September, more young women are coming forward claiming to have been taken advantage of by these men.

It is important to note that many of these, alleged, rapists have been met with online support whereas, the young girls have received death threats and have been called liars. Despite some police investigations being closed, it is important to teach young individuals the importance of consent and internet safety. It seems that YouTube has yet to be tarnished by such scandals however, one can only hope such scandal never happens again.
