A COMMEMORATIVE ceremony will be held in Waltham Forest tonight in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.

The whole borough is invited to pay respects and remember the 132 victims, and those left behind, at the town hall in Forest Road.

Council leader Councillor Chris Robbins said: “Following the strength of feeling from the local community we will be holding this event so that the borough can express its condolences to the victims and their families following the series of terrorist attacks that took place in Paris on Friday 13 November.

“Like me, I am sure that you were shocked to hear of the horrific events that unfolded in the city and we want to ensure that our residents are given an opportunity to send their condolences and solidarity to everybody affected.

“We have also opened a Book of Condolence in the Town Hall so that you can add your messages of support.

“Our thoughts continue to be with the families and friends of the victims who were killed and injured during this attack as well as everyone who has been affected by terrorist attacks across the world particular those that took place recently in Nigeria and Beirut.”

The commemorative event takes place from 7.30pm where tea and coffee will be served.
