BURGER lovers in Leyton are in for a treat after fast food chain Burger King announced the roll out of its delivery service to the area.

Earlier this year eight locations were chosen by the chain for the home-food service, and after apparent success, it has been rolled out to eight more.

The new stores offering delivery include Leyton, Leyton Mills Retail Park, Stratford and Stratford shopping centre.

According to the site hungry customers have to spend a minimum of £8 in Leyton and a £1.20 delivery charge

But anyone who has decided not to leave the house will get extra offers, on top of the full store menu.

The additional options for delivery customers include a ‘Bundle for 2’ for £15 - two large Whopper or Chicken Royale meals and nine chicken nuggets - and a ‘Party Bundle’ for £20 which consists of three large Whopper or Chicken Royale meals, and 20 chicken nuggets.

If you are holding out for McDonald’s to do the same, you may be waiting a long time as the company said it is focusing on serving food fresh from the kitchen for now.

For decades burger restaurants have resisted introducing home-delivery services as the snacks will not travel well and tend to go soggy when warmed up in a microwave.

A few years ago Burger King claimed to have solved the problem by developing what it called 'proprietary thermal packaging technology,' which ensures the food won't arrive cold and congealed.
