Police investigating the robbery of a Croydon fast food shop by a thief wielding a meat cleaver have charged a man with 15 offences.

Craig Adams, 33, of no fixed address, will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court tomorrow accused of 13 counts of robbery and two burglaries.

He was arrested on Thursday following a robbery at the fast food restaurant, understood to be Subway, in Welleslesy Road on October 18.

A 28-year-old sales assistant at the shop was threatened with a meat cleaver by a man demanding cash from the till.

Police issued an appeal for information the robbery last month. They also released CCTV footage of a raiding at a Kennington off licence which detectives believed to be linked to the Wellesley Road robbery.
