A minute’s silence was held at the inquest into the death of a Kingston University student who died four years ago today.
Those at County Hall in Northampton observed the silence in memory of 19-year-old Laurene-Danielle Jackson, who died on November 6, 2011.
The inquest into her death, and that of Nabila Nanfuka, began on Monday, and is expected to last two more weeks.
Miss Jackson, a promising psychology second year student, died after a crush in Northampton nightclub Lava and Ignite in the early hours of October 19, 2011.
Hundreds of students had been bussed into the city for the Wickedest Wickedest student night.
Jurors heard a DJ on the night announced 14 times in 30 minutes the coaches were leaving – leading to a throng of people gathering near the cloakroom.
Both Miss Jackson and Miss Nanfuka, 22, were found unconscious in the club and 28 clubbers were hurt in the crush.
No criminal charges were brought against anyone.
