The mystery that swept through south west London like the fog that has engulfed the area has finally been solved.
FROM MONDAY: Hippo spotted in Teddington's Bushy Park
The hippo spotted in the boating pond at Bushy Park, Teddington, on Sunday was not a two-tonne African beast, but a remote controlled boat.
The creature was photographed by Susan Lindenberg and Julie Hill and before long the internet was full of speculation about what Africa’s most dangerous animal was doing swimming through a pond in Teddington.
Sarah Lavender was on hand to solve the mystery, and photographed the remote-controlled hippo head on the edge of the pond.
