STAR of the screen Vicki Michelle splashed her cash at a charity shop this weekend after opening the store.

The ‘Allo Allo’ actress greeted shoppers in Leytonstone High Road at the launch of shop raising money for a children’s hospice, on Saturday.

TV legend and patron of Haven House, Vicki, conducted the official opening for its shop at 894 High Road which began trading earlier this year.

Vicki entertained customers and spoke of her fondness for the hospice before cutting a red ribbon placed over the front of the shop.

The crowd which had gathered erupted with laughter when it became apparent the scissors the shop kept were too blunt to cut the ribbon.

Thankfully, a member of the public had a miniature pair of scissors attached to a penknife which Vicki used to cut the ribbon.

Vicki Michelle MBE, patron of Haven House Children’s Hospice said: “I was delighted to open Haven House’s fabulous new boutique in Leytonstone.

“It’s a fantastic addition to the High Road and goes to show you can shop in style for a bargain whilst still supporting a brilliant cause.

“I have been a patron of the hospice for many years and what they do for life-limited children and their families in the local area is truly remarkable.”

Jane London, Haven House Retail Manager, added: “It was lovely to welcome Vicki to our new boutique.

“She did an amazing job making people feel excited about the opening and we were delighted that she mingled with customers, browsed in the shop and even purchased some items.”
