A weather warning has been issued, with heavy rain expected across south-east London and north Kent this morning.
The Met Office has warned the public to be aware of the risk of localised flooding - which could be made worse by falling leaves blocking drains.
There is risk of more than 10mm of rain falling an hour in some places, and 30mm in a few hours.
A spokesman said: "Rain across the region will turn heavy at times this morning, before clearing northwards."
The warning is in effect from 6am to 11am, with drier conditions expected in the afternoon.
