PEOPLE suffering from diabetes can add a date to their diaries for the next meeting of a support group.

Those living in Harrow have one of the highest numbers of people at risk of Type 2 diabetes in the UK, at 14 per cent.

The percentage represents an estimate of 27,935 people aged 16 and over in Harrow who have high blood sugar levels, or non-diabetic hyperglycaemia.

Now people suffering from the condition can now find out more about services in the borough at the next meeting of the Harrow Diabetes UK group.

The group, which meets at Harrow Baptist Church, in College Road, Harrow, will hear from the president Dr Keith Steer about diabetes services in Harrow and his work at Northwick Park Hospital.

The meeting will be held from 8pm on October 22.

For more information about the group, email lis.warren44@gmail.com or call the Secretary on 0208 428 1448.
