Last year it was two members of Five. Before that it was three of S-Club 7.
This year's light switch-on will be performed on November 14 by 90s chart-toppers Liberty X it was announced today. But not all five of them.
2014: Five turn on Sutton Christmas lights
Michelle Heaton and Kevin Simm will perform some of the band's hits on the day. They were formed in 2001 as part of the Popstars show which also created Hearsay.
Michelle is now big on Twitter after relaunching herself as a fitness expert.

The lights switch-on event will begin at noon with a Christmas market and Santa Claus in his grotto.
