Edmonton shopping centre could see more home built on its grounds as proposals are made.
St Modwen, who own the centre, in Edmonton Green, are hoping to build 77 private rented apartments on part of the north car park.
There will also be a new public square built as part of the redevelopments as the company looks to create “an attractive northern entrance to the shopping centre.”
Gary Morris, senior development manager at St. Modwen said: “The long term aspiration is for Edmonton Green to become one of the most successful and diverse shopping centres in North London.
“This next phase of regeneration looks to maximise opportunities for people to move or relocate to the area and benefit from the wide range of local amenities, leisure choices and strong transport links, while creating a varied and vibrant community around the Centre.”
Subject to planning approval, construction will start in spring 2016, with completion scheduled for mid-2017.
A summary of the proposals is available in the Centre’s North Square.
