Police are appealing for witnesses after a man from Higham was seriously injured and later died after an argument at Victoria station.

Richard Powell, 39, suffered serious head injuries in the incident on Saturday August 1, and died three days later at St Thomas’ Hospital. 

Detectives from the British Transport Police's major investigation team are now launching a public appeal for witnesses to come forward. 

BTP officers will be at Victoria station today appealing directly to members of the public, distributing information leaflets and using Bluetooth technology to alert passengers at the station to the appeal via their handheld devices.

Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson, leading the investigation, said: "We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed an altercation involving three men on the main concourse of Victoria mainline station at approximately 7.35pm on Saturday, 1 August.

"Any information, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, could prove crucial to the investigation."

A 21-year-old man, from south London, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and was subsequently released on bail, pending further enquiries.
