Croydon North's Labour MP Steve Reed told this website that he would house an asylum seeker and called the image of three-year-old Aylan Kurdi, whose body washed up on a Turkish beach on Wednesday morning, "shocking and tragic".
Gavin Barwell, MP for Croydon Central, said the photograph was "heartbreaking" but that the UK could be proud of its record of taking in some 5,000 asylum seekers.
Fellow Conservative Chris Philp, in Croydon South, called for regime change in Syria and said dictator Bashar al-Assad should be "toppled".
