Owen Baker enjoys the hot weather
Get the sun cream ready as temperatures in south east London and north Kent are set to soar today and into the weekend.
Today - after a cloudy start - some good sunny spells will develop into the afternoon. It will become very warm in many places, with a maximum temperature of 27 °C.
After a fine evening and dry night, Saturday should be mainly dry and hot with some good sunny spells, although the odd heavy shower may develop by the evening.
The maximum temperature will be 29 °C.
The fine weather is, unfortunately, not set to last however.
During Sunday and into Monday and Tuesday it will turn increasingly unsettled with occasional rain or showers, perhaps heavy and thundery in places.
