An Edmonton man has been arrested as part of a drugs swoop across London.

The 19-year-old, of Woodlands Road, Edmonton, was one of eleven arrest in the raids in Enfield, Haringey and east London.

An 18-year-old man from Redvers Road, Wood Green, a 17-year-old boy from Pymmes Close, 19-year-old man from The Roundway, a 23-year-old-man from Flexmere Road, a 19-year-old-man from Flexmere Road, all from Tottenham, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

The raids targeted suspected gang members involved in the supply of drugs in Haringey in a bid to reduce violence and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Following the raids, eleven people aged between 15 and 35 were arrested. A quantity of heroin and cannabis were seized along with a moped.

Detective Inspector Hayley Guest from trident and area crime command, said: "This morning's raids are a co-ordinated response to tackle the blight of drug dealing on the streets of Haringey. They send out a strong signal to those involved that we are watching them and we will not tolerate their activities."

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Trevers, from Haringey CID, added: "Police in Haringey will continue to work with our local authority partners, as well as specialist police units, to stem the links between gang crime, drug dealing and violence. We will not give up the fight against the misery and sorrow such crimes create for the residents and businesses of Haringey."

A 19-year-old man from Fairview Close, east London, a 35-year-old man from Maury Road, Stoke Newington, and a 17-year-old boy from Wallwood Road, Leytonstone, were also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.

Two further people were arrested for possession of cannabis, including a 15-year-old boy.
