Greenwich University's new £76m school of architecture is in the running to be named the country's best new building.
The Stockwell Street building is one of six shortlisted for the 2015 Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Stirling Prize, with the eventual winner being declared on October 15.
Greenwich University's facility, which has already bagged a RIBA London awards for architectural excellence, was officially opened last year by William Hague and designed by Heneghan Peng Architects.
Other nominated buildings include Burntwood School in Wandsworth, Peabody's affordable housing apartment block in Whitechapel, and Manchester's revamped Whitworth gallery.
RIBA president Stephen Hodder said: "Every one of the six shortlisted buildings illustrates why great architecture is so valuable.
"It has the power to delight, inspire and comfort us at all stages of our lives - to improve a student's potential to learn, to provide a family with a decent home, and to create a sensitive and uplifting healthcare environment."
