Police investigating an assault on a late night train between Charing Cross and Lewisham have released CCTV images of four men they want to speak to.

The incident occurred on Saturday May 30 on board the 11.22pm Charing Cross to Sidcup service, and left one man requiring hospital treatment for lacerations to his face.

Detective Sergeant Helen Parsfield, leading the investigation for British Transport Police, said: "Two brothers, both from south London, boarded the last carriage of the train at Charing Cross.

"Shortly after the service departed, a verbal altercation began with another man in the carriage.

"A short time later, three other men intervened and the confrontation turned physical.

"The younger brother – aged 46 – ended up on the floor of the train and was kicked repeatedly.

"The four men are believed to have fled the service at Lewisham station.

"Other passengers called the police and officers conducted a search of the area but nobody matching the suspects’ descriptions could be found."
