Police want to find a man who grabbed a 16-year-old girl's arm and suggested going to the park in Walton.

The young girl was out shopping at about 3.40pm, on Tuesday, July 7, when she was approached by a man who tried to talk to her.

He started to follow her, at one point allegedly grabbing her arm and implying he wanted to go to a park with her. She managed to get away and reported it to police.

The man is white, about 40 to 45, quite short with black hair. He was carrying a black rucksack.

Police would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with the incident.

Detective Superintendent Andy Jenkins said: "Although the girl was not injured this was a particularly unpleasant incident and something that no one should have to experience.

"We are hoping that someone will recognise the person in the photograph so we can progress our inquiries and bring any offenders to justice."
