The photos were snapped in August 39 years ago when the country was in the grip of one of the warmest, driest summers on record.
They were taken by German record collector Klaus Hiltscher aka Affendaddy the Rock 'n' Roll Accountant.
The pictures provide a fascinating look at how London has changed – and not changed – in the four decades since.
