Police are hunting a woman in her 60s with a walking frame who attacked a young woman with a bone condition on a bus in a row over a priority seat.

The incident happened on a 73 bus in Westminster.

Police say a 22-year-old woman who has osteoporosis, a condition that causes bones to become brittle and fragile, was sitting in the priority seating area at the front of the bus.

As she got up to leave the bus in Great Titchfield Street around 3.30pm on March 12, an older woman “elbowed her hard in the stomach”, causing her to fall back onto the floor.

The victim later went to hospital and was treated for a suspected broken rib.

It is thought the assault was carried out after a dispute over a priority seat.

The suspect is described as a woman of Mediterranean appearance, aged about 60, with short grey hair, wearing glasses and using a wheeled walking frame.
