A mum from Haddenham has helped launch a fashion finder app with a difference.

Penny Sloane teamed up with friend and colleague Debbie Grey to come up with Pocket Wardrobe, an app that is set to revolutionise the way people shop for clothes online.

The pair left their senior retail jobs to set up their new venture - which has been dubbed the Match.com of the fashion world.

Pocket Wardrobe users post style dilemmas or outfits they are looking for and have suggestions from retailers, boutique shops, stylists and fashion-seekers sent to their mobile phone.

Outfits are then selected and matched to their Pocket Wardrobe profile - bringing an end to trawling round websites or pounding the high street.

With over 65 years of retail experience between them, Mrs Grey and Mrs Sloane wanted to create an app that was completely inclusive, allowing everyone to be heard, regardless of size, style, budget or location.

Mrs Sloane, 57, said: "Pocket Wardrobe is a time-saving service that takes personal shopping to a whole new level. Beginning our third career in the technology arena which is dominated by people much younger than us has been a challenge, but we are super proud of Pocket Wardrobe, because it’s everything shopping should be."

Mrs Grey, 51 and from London, added: "With so much choice out there, it seems crazy that we can’t always find the fashion we want. Having spent the last two decades in senior retail and stylist positions, we understood that shops were missing a voice, a way to provide a service that was more tailored to the individual.

"Our clients would regularly complain about feeling overwhelmed by the amount of choice or they simply didn’t know what was available because they were too busy or uninspired. We decided to fix this problem by creating an easy-to-use platform that gives people the freedom and confidence to ask for the things they want and to receive their outfit matches from real people."

Pocket Wardrobe is free to download from the Apple store and will be available in a website format in September. To find out more visit pocketwardrobe.com.
