Travelling long distances by train can often bring nasty shocks but festival-goers heading to Glastonbury from London by rail could be in for a very pleasant surprise.
First Great Western is giving passengers the chance to enjoy exclusive and intimate live gigs on trains to some of the biggest summer music festivals.
To get fans in the mood for Glasto it will be setting up one-off sets with a surprise music act on board a service from London Paddington to Castle Cary on June 27.
The Summer Tracks campaign will continue on trains bound for Reading and Wilderness.
Young London singer Ella Eyre got things going by performing on a FGW train to give passengers a preview of what’s in store.
She said: “It’s something different – most musicians are used to radio stations rather than train stations!”
Jamie Anderson, campaigns manager at FGW, said: “We are looking forward to surprising our passenger with a guest act that will perform on one of our trains to the Glastonbury festival this summer.
“It’s going to be an incredible journey to remember for our passengers. What better way to travel than with exclusive gig you can enjoy from the comfort of your train seat?”
Passengers who book a FGW train to Glastonbury are also in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to an Ella Eyre concert.
