Dominic Raab MP spoke at an event to honour 10 schoolchildren who have turned their lives around.

The MP for Esher and Walton attended the 2015 Elmbridge Young Person of Honour Awards and introduced the winners.

He said: "Well done to all of the youngsters recognised in this year's awards. Every year at this event I'm moved by the stories of these remarkable young people doing inspiring things in our community.

"The awards are a great opportunity to recognise young people who have turned their lives around, overcome illness or loss, or raised funds for charity.

"Congratulations to all the children involved, and well done to Lynn Hunt and her team of police volunteers who organised this terrific evening."

The awards on Friday, June 5, at Imber Court, East Molesey, were opened by Surrey Police and Crime Commissioner Kevin Hurley.
