A grandmother who died after a collision with a van, a tanker and a car has been named by police as Yvonne Wyeth.

The 55-year-old cyclist, from East Molesey, was involved in the multi-vehicle crash in Molesey Road on Thursday, May 28.

Her brother-in-law, Mark Sherren, told the Evening Standard of the family's shock following her death.

He said: "We are all just so upset - we want answers as to how this could have happened. It is a dangerous stretch of road, but she knew what she was doing being such an experienced cyclist."

Mr Sherren described her as a "wonderful family woman" and said she doted on her grandchildren and loved her family.

The driver of a van, a 34-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance. He has since been bailed until June 26 while enquiries continue.

Police are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw events leading up to it to come forward.

Anyone with any information should call Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922 quoting reference 45150044565.
