A teenager suffered multiple stab wounds 48 hours after being released from hospital following treatment for a previous knife attack.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service to reports of two teenagers suffering from stab wounds in Connington Crescent, Chingford, yesterday (June 8) at around 6.30pm.

A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital by air ambulance, which had landed in the grounds of Longshaw Primary School in Longshaw Road.

A second teenager, aged 15, was treated by paramedics in Withy Mead after being stabbed in the back and taken to hospital.

The 16-year-old boy had been discharged from hospital on Saturday after being stabbed in Hall Lane, at the junction with Sinclair Road, on Thursday

His 38 year-old mother, who wished not to be named, said: "Five of his friends came to see him and were standing outside talking to him.

"A black car pulled up, the driver and two people got out, stabbed my son in both his legs and shoulder.

"The car then screeched off.

"The boys were all running for their lives.

"They are all 16 and studying for their GCSEs, this should not be happening.

"His friend came running back, he had been stabbed by his bum.

"My son has only just left the hospital after being stabbed on Thursday.

"He was stabbed in his left side and arm. They were trying to stab him in the heart but he put his arm down.

"They punctured his liver, he was very critical. I thought I was going to lose him and now this."

A neighbour in Connington Crescent took the injured boy into her home after he knocked on several doors pleading for help.

Pam Ford, of Connington Crescent, saw the teenager take refuge in a neighbour's garden.

The 77-year-old, said: "I saw a young man panting and leaning over a wall. A man came out and spoke to him.

"He went over the wall and hid in the garden, then ran off. A neighbour then took him in.

"It's awful. I've been living here since 1958 and everyone is still friendly and looks out for one another.

"You don't expect this to happen on your doorstep."

A 35 year-old woman living in Connington Crescent, who asked not to be named, said she now feared for her children's safety.

"I've got four sons and I'm terrified to let them out because of this," she said.

"This is a quiet residential street and my kids play out here.

"If it was not for me being somewhere yesterday when it kicked off, they would have been playing outdoors and witnessed it.

"It's shocking."

Both teenagers were discharged from hospital in the early hours of this morning.

A 21-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested nearby and remain in custody.
