A dog owner gave her beloved Yorkshire Terrier mouth-to-mouth resuscitation after it was mauled to death by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Raquel Quesada launched a frantic effort to save her pet Dylan's life after the attack in Thornton Heath recreation ground, before confronting the owners of the killer dog.

She claimed the Staffie's owner refused to help and fled the park after the dog seized Dylan, who weighed just 4kg, in its jaws and shook him for two minutes on Friday.

Miss Quesada said: "When he dropped him he was still alive for 10 minutes, but the dog's owner and his companion refused to help me when I asked if they could call the emergency number while I was doing a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

"They left running [from] the park.

"The attack was straight without any warning sign, he suddenly jumped on my dog who just lied down face up showing him his submission."

Miss Quesada and boyfriend Javier Rodriguez returned to film the dog's owner, who also had a second dog, to provide footage to the police, as she believed a crime had been committed.

She posted photos of the owner and his dogs on Facebook to warn people.

She said: "My partner and me are really shattered and I think that the behaviour of these people is a shame.

"We need to find the owner so this doesn't happen again.

"These guys are always drinking in early morning in the park. We want to warn everyone because this is going to happen again.

"When the attack happened he couldn't control the dogs.

"We really think that these guys who have been drinking since the morning can not control properly two dangerous dogs."
